Olivia Rodrigo has credited two members of pop-punk band Paramore on her song Good 4 U.
The Sour songstress, 18, has retroactively added singer Hayley Williams and ex-guitarist Josh Farro as co-creators after her breakup track garnered widespread comparison to Paramore’s 2007 track Misery Business, according to Variety.
This is the third time Rodrigo has augmented Sour’s credits, previously adding Taylor Swift and cowriters to the credits for her tracks Déjà vu and 1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back.

According to sources close to the situation, the credit is for an ‘interpolation,’ or an ‘element of a previously recorded song re-recorded and incorporated into a new song.’
They added that Rodrigo’s camp and Paramore people had been in touch about Good 4 U before its release in May.
Williams and Farro’s names are not listed on the song’s Spotify credits yet but are on the ASCAP Repertory database, according to Variety.
Fans took notice of the new credits after Paramore’s publishers Warner Chappell Music celebrated the song’s success online.

They posted to Instagram, writing: ‘Huge shoutout to our writers Hayley Williams and Joshua Farro.’
Williams shared the post herself, adding: ‘Our publisher is wildin rn.’
Good 4 U’s new credit is likely in an effort to stave off any intellectual property lawsuits in the future.
While Paramore’s Williams seemed flattered by Olivia’s admiration, other artists were less than thrilled to be Rodrigo’s inspiration.

Although a fan of Love and her riot-girl outfit, Rodrigo told Variety last month that she ‘didn’t really think about’ those, and was more inspired by images from the horror classic Carrie.
‘I mean, to be honest I’m flattered that Courtney Love knows who I am,’ she says.
‘She’s from a totally different generation, so I thought that was cool, but I think we’re both obviously really inspired by the film Carrie. I don’t know — I didn’t really give it too much thought.’
