A person was killed early Sunday morning during a second-alarm fire at an apartment building in Imperial Beach.

Imperial Beach firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 5:20 a.m. at an apartment building near the corner of 7th Street and Cherry Avenue. The person who died in the fire was pronounced dead at the scene and at least 10 people were temporarily displaced as a result of the fire, according to Imperial Beach Fire Department chief John French.
