1 dead, 1 in critical condition after brazen Easter Sunday shooting on NYC street

An Easter Sunday shooting left a young man dead and another critically injured on a Brooklyn street, as captured by disturbing surveillance footage and confirmed by authorities.

Responding to reports of gunfire just before 6 p.m., police found a 30-year-old and a 50-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside a building on Fulton Street, situated between Cleveland and Elton Street in Cypress Hills, the NYPD reported.

Both victims, whose identities have not been disclosed, were rushed to Brookdale University Medical Center in critical condition. Sadly, the 30-year-old succumbed to his injuries, according to police statements.

Authorities have taken a person of interest into custody in connection with the shooting.

Footage obtained by The Post shows two men standing on a sidewalk beneath the elevated J train subway platform, interacting with a group of about three other individuals.

The video reveals a tense moment when a man in a gray jacket and light pants suddenly draws a gun and fires multiple shots at the two men, striking both, as reported in the surveillance clip.

The shooter continued to pump bullets into the victims even as they lay motionless on the sidewalk, the disturbing footage showed.

One man dressed in dark clothing and white sneakers started walking away from the group the moment the shooter took out the gun.

Photos later captured stunned onlookers at the scene as authorities swarmed the area and marked a large number of shell casings.

It is unclear what sparked the gunfire or the men’s affiliation with each other. The investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
