14 y.o. Florida boy calls police after allegedly killing parents

CLAY COUNTY, Fl. – Authorities from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office have taken 14-year-old Trevor Lee into custody for allegedly shooting and killing his parents in Middleburg, Florida.

On August 4th, the agency received a 911 call from a male identifying himself as 14-year-old Trevor Lee.

As revealed in a Facebook post, Trevor Lee reported to dispatchers over the phone that he had fatally shot his parents within their home on Silver Point, situated in the Fleming Island area of Middleburg. He mentioned awaiting arrest at a nearby church parking lot.

Officers responded quickly to both locations. At the residence, they found two deceased individuals, identified as David Lee, 44, and Brandi Smith, 45.

Both victims appeared to have died from gunshot wounds. Deputies subsequently located the teen caller a short distance away and arrested him without trouble. He faces two charges of second-degree murder.

Based on the preliminary investigation, this appears to be an isolated, domestic-related incident.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said that this an active and ongoing investigation.

Detectives are working diligently to gather evidence and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
