A diverse group of individuals, including educators, a supposed government employee, and an NFL team worker, exchanged harsh comments about Charlie Kirk’s death following his assassination.

The 31-year-old conservative political activist was fatally shot as a gunman targeted him during a university event in Utah on Wednesday.

The unidentified suspect is believed to have jumped from a vantage point on a roof at the campus before escaping into a nearby neighborhood.

On Thursday, authorities recovered a high-powered bolt action rifle believed to be used in the incident, with bullet casings marked by transgender and anti-fascist slogans.

His killing has drawn bipartisan condemnation, but some on social media have opted instead to mock the father-of-two.

In response, some employers immediately suspended or terminated those involved, while others faced no immediate consequences.

MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd was let go from his position with the broadcaster over comments he made while covering the fatal shooting.

The chief strategist for George W. Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign suggested the gunshot could have been fired by one of Kirk’s supporters.

“We don’t yet know all the details. It’s unclear if this was a celebratory act by a supporter or something else. So, the situation is still uncertain,” one person remarked.

Dowd made the comments on Wednesday night, with the network later letting him go from his post.

He also released a public apology writing: ‘My thoughts & prayers are w/ the family and friends of Charlie Kirk,’ he wrote.

‘On an earlier appearance on MSNBC I was asked a question on the environment we are in.

“I apologize for my choice of words. To clarify, I did not mean to suggest that Kirk was at fault for this tragic event. We must unite to denounce violence in all forms.”

Charlie Rock

The Carolina Panthers reportedly fired junior employee Charlie Rock after he made insensitive posts after the death of Kirk.

Images circulating on social media appear to show Rock having shared a video of Kirk making comments on the need to protect the Second Amendment.

He allegedly wrote alongside the clip saying: ‘Why are y’all sad? Your man said it was worth it.’

A screenshot seemingly from his own Instagram account shared the Wu-Tang Clan song ‘Protect Ya Neck’. Kirk succumbed to a gunshot wound to his neck.

‘We are taking this matter very seriously and have accordingly addressed it with the individual.’

Gretchen Felker-Martin

DC Comics announced on Wednesday that they would be cancelling a new comic book series by author Gretchen Felker-Martin after her comments surrounding Kirk.

The series, named Red Hood, was pulled just hours after its first issue was released to retailers.

Taking to Bluesky, Felker-Martin reposted a news article about Kirk’s assassination.

Alongside it, she wrote: ‘Thoughts and prayers you Nazi b****. Hope the bullet’s okay after touching Charlie.’

DC then said they would pull Red Hood from retailers, adding that they will offer refunds on copies of the comic that have already been sold.

In a picture of the post shared to X, the pre-K educator derided Kirk as being a ‘garbage human’, adding: ‘I won’t mourn him for one second’.

She did add that she felt for his family for their loss, before adding: ‘I am tired of having to be the bigger person while the other side destroys to world.

‘Charlie Kirk recently said that he thought gun violence victims and mass shooter victims are a reasonable price to pay for the Second Amendment.

‘F*** that guy. Ironic, isn’t it?’, her post was subsequently shared to social media and her Facebook profile appears to have been deleted due to a backlash.

Daily Mail has approached the DODEA for comment on the remarks.

Laura Sosh-Lightsy

Eve wasn’t the only educator who took to social media and made callous remarks, with the Middle Tennessee State University Assistant Dean doing the same.

Laura Sosh-Lightsy was let go from her position at the school after saying: ‘Looks like ol’ Charlie spoke his fate into existence. Hate begets hate. ZERO sympathy.’

The Telegraph claims to have seen messages supposedly sent by George Abaraonye, which have also been shared on social media.

One, said to have been sent on WhatsApp, reads: ‘Charlie Kirk got shot, let’s f***ing go’.

Another message, which the Telegraph claims was posted by Abaraonye on Instagram, says: ‘Charlie Kirk got shot loool’.

The Oxford student’s Instagram account has been made private, preventing anyone from viewing his posts on the platform.

It is also unclear whether the WhatsApp account that appeared to share the messages belongs to Abaraonye.

Abaraonye was elected for the presidency in June and previously came head-to-head with Kirk during an event at the University in May.

The pair debated about the concept of ‘toxic masculinity’, during which they disagreed about the impact it posed on younger generations of men and women.
