The Ohio Lottery says the winner chose the annuity option, which means the $1 million prize will be paid with $40,000 a year for 25 years before taxes.
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — We have another $1 million winner who recently hit the top prize on an Ohio Lottery VIP Millions scratch-off ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sheetz #639 at 1101 North Canfield Niles Road in Austintown, which is in Mahoning County.
Although they did not reveal his name, the Ohio Lottery says the winner chose the annuity option, which means the $1 million prize will be paid as $40,000 a year for 25 years before taxes.
“After federal and state tax withholdings, the winner will receive approximately $28,000 a year for 25 years,” according to the Ohio Lottery.
VIP Millions is a $50 scratch-off ticket. Here are the remaining prizes left in the game as of March 19:
- $1 million prize (or $40,000 a year for 25 years): 42 remaining
- $50,000 prize: 23 remaining
- $20,000 prize: 400 remaining
- $5,000 prize: 794 remaining

This is the second $1 million winner in the VIP Millions game here in Northeast Ohio after a Canton couple hit the top prize back in January. They chose the cash option of $500,000.
“After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 28 percent, they will receive approximately $360,000,” the Ohio Lottery said at the time.
