A plus-sized woman has laid bare her struggle to find love – and slammed men who are ‘too ashamed’ to be seen with a larger woman.
Alex Aspasia has earned a legion of followers online thanks to her body-positive attitude.
And while she embraces her curves no matter what, when it comes to dating, it’s proven to be quite a challenge.
The 31-year-old, who got divorced last year, has been searching high and low for Mr. Right.
And while she’s had many suitors, there’s been a recurring issue: they are ‘too ashamed’ to be seen in public with her.
“Re-entering the dating scene has been quite enlightening,” shared the model, who stands six feet tall, is a size 26, and weighs 385 pounds, in her recent conversation with What’s The Jam.
She explained that while many men seem interested in her at first, they don’t want to actually meet in person.
She noted, “I’ve discovered that many men are interested in dating me. I’ve received messages from professional athletes and rappers, debunking the myth that you must conform to a certain body type to be desired.”

‘But for most, that interest stays behind closed doors, as if they’re ashamed to be seen with a larger woman.
‘I dated one guy who admitted that he doesn’t want anyone to know about us, and he said that his family wouldn’t approve because of my size.
“It’s quite distressing to invest emotionally in someone, only to be told you’re unsuitable for public appearances with them simply because of your weight,” she expressed.
Based in Miami, Florida, Alex mentioned that her ‘unapologetic confidence’ tends to attract men, as it is ‘uncommon’ to find such self-assurance, particularly among plus-size individuals, in today’s world.
‘I know that kind of confidence can be magnetic. But I’m looking for someone who wants me for who I am, not my curves,’ she shared.
‘I want a relationship built on genuine connection, not just attraction.’
She recently went viral after she posted a clip detailing her struggle to find love on TikTok.
In a video that amassed nearly one million views, Alex is seen dining alone at a restaurant, captioning her solitude with: “Another Saturday night alone because men love fat girls in their bed but not in public.”

‘Dating as a plus-size woman is harder because men just lust after you,’ she reflected.
‘And the majority want to experience you, but don’t know how to fit you into their world because of the harsh judgment we receive.
‘I still have hope that I will find somebody, and I want to tell people not to settle. It’s complicated. But I refuse to entertain anyone who would keep me a secret.’
