Charlie Kirk 'shooter' seen being dragged away by police

Furious witnesses to the shooting of Charlie Kirk screamed and hurled abuse at the suspected shooter as he was dragged away by police.

‘How dare you, you f***ing monster!’ one yelled as the suspect, an elderly man who has not been identified, was walked away with his trousers down.

Witness Justin Hickens told NBC News that he saw Kirk shot in the neck, and then saw ‘a bunch of blood come out of Charlie.’

‘I saw his body kind of kick back and go limp, and everybody dropped to the ground,’ he said.

‘I kind of turned around and all of a sudden I saw officers walking with this very elderly gentleman with white hair,’ Hickens said.

‘They had him arrested, they had him on his knees and he was screaming about his rights and all that stuff. They cuffed him and put him away.’

UVU officials said the shot was fired from the top of the Losee Center, about 200 yards away from where Kirk was sitting.

Officials have reported that Kirk is in ‘critical condition,’ and a source close to the situation informed the Daily Mail that ‘doctors are continuing their work on him’ following his emergency transport to the hospital.

This incident occurred as President Trump led prayers for Kirk, who appeared to have been seriously injured while hosting his Turning Point USA Q&A session with students.

‘We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!’ Trump said on Truth Social.

‘Say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuinely good guy and a young father,’ Vice President JD Vance added on X.

The horror shooting unfolded Wednesday afternoon at the UVU campus in Orem.

Video footage from the event captured attendees screaming as gunfire erupted, with social media posts suggesting that Kirk was shot in the neck.

Sophie Anderson, 45, who stood 100 feet from the stage during the shooting, explained to the Daily Mail that she was nearly trampled as she fled to the food court, where she sought shelter in a closet.

‘The moment it happened, I recognized it as a gunshot,’ stated Anderson, who attended the event with her supervisor Phil Lyman, a former Utah state representative distributing hats on stage with Kirk just five minutes earlier.

‘He was shot in the neck and collapsed in a surge of blood,’ she recounted. ‘They carried him away. All these students are just falling apart and crying.’

Someone is in custody following the shooting, according to an alert sent to students.

Kirk published a post on X just minutes before reports of the shooting emerged.

‘WE. ARE. SO. BACK,’ Kirk wrote at 2.23pm EST. ‘Utah Valley University is FIRED UP and READY for the first stop back on the American Comeback Tour.’
