CHICAGO — Authorities in Chicago have issued a warning following a series of burglaries and an armed robbery on the city’s Northwest Side. The Chicago Police Department released the alert on Sunday, urging local businesses and residents to remain vigilant.

According to police reports, a group of seven male suspects has been involved in these incidents. They are believed to be using a late-model blue Acura SUV to travel to and from the crime scenes. The suspects typically target businesses, focusing primarily on accessing the ATM before making their escape.

The police noted that the criminals have struck both during business hours and when establishments were closed. In one reported case, the suspects brandished firearms, adding a layer of danger to their criminal activities.

The targeted crimes have been concentrated in the Belmont Gardens and Avondale neighborhoods of Chicago. The police have detailed the specific times and locations where these incidents occurred, emphasizing the need for heightened awareness and caution among those in the area.

  • 4400-block of West Diversey Ave. on Dec. 30 at 4:11 a.m.

  • 2800-block of North Sacramento Ave. on Jan. 3 at 3:40 a.m.

  • 4600-block of West Diversey Ave. on Jan. 3 at 3:36 a.m.

  • 6000-block of West Fullerton Ave. on Jan. 25 at 4:42 am.

The suspects are described as males between 18 and 45 years old who wear black hooded sweatshirts, black sweatpants, and black ski masks.
