CAMDEN COUNTY, Georgia — A person who threatened a Southeast Georgia high school is in custody, police said.
Around 7 a.m. Wednesday, Camden County Schools said there would be an extra police presence at Camden County High School following an “alleged online threat.”
The St. Marys Police Department said threats of violence were made against the school. They later identified the suspect and took him into custody, according to a social media post.
The Kingsland Police Department, Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Camden County and the school district assisted in the investigation.
“We appreciate the efforts of all involved to protect our children, teachers, and staff at our schools,” the St. Marys Police Department said in the post.
Interviews are being conducted and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
