ONE person has been injured after gunfire was reported outside a Target in north Oxnard, said police.

The incident was reported before 3pm Friday near the department store at The Collection at RiverPark shopping center.

Oxnard Police Department Commander Marc Amon said there is one confirmed victim.

The victim is a 31-year-old male who has been taken to Ventura County Medical Center via ambulance.

The man is in surgery but it is not known what his condition is or if his injuries are life-threatening.

The shooting may have taken place near the southwest corner of the parking lot according to radio traffic from the scene. 

As of 3:15pm, the location was clear, Amon said.

Authorities are looking for possible suspect vehicles.

According to preliminary reports, the shooting may have been caused by a road rage incident but Amon says that hasn’t been confirmed.
