Whether for celebration or stress relief — or both — Sean McVay was in need of a beer just a few minutes after Super Bowl 2022.
The 36-year-old coach got his hands on his first Lombardi Trophy after leading the Rams to a 23-20 win over the Bengals on Sunday night, needing a touchdown with 1:25 left in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
“Let me get a beer!” McVay said as he joined NFL Network’s postgame show.
Host Chris Rose said his crew would work on it while McVay broke down the nail-biting win at SoFi Stadium.
Three years after losing in the Super Bowl to the Patriots, McVay became the youngest coach to win it in NFL history. He also has questions regarding his future, as he spoke in the days leading up to the big game about not coaching forever and wanting to start a family.
But when asked about it, McVay said on the postgame show he wasn’t walking away just yet.
“No,” McVay said. “I’m so happy for this team right now. So happy to be associated with it. We’re going to enjoy tonight. I’m not going to remember any of it.”
