In a dramatic moment during Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, Rashida Tlaib was caught on camera chanting “KKK” at Republican lawmakers, who were enthusiastically cheering “USA.” This new footage highlights the tension that erupted in the House Chamber on Tuesday night, with the far-left Democratic representative’s actions leading to heated exchanges involving the President and other lawmakers.
Alongside her colleague Ilhan Omar, Tlaib’s vociferous protest against the Republican applause was captured in a new clip, where she can be heard repeating “KKK” repeatedly, seemingly mocking her political opponents’ show of support for Trump.
These racially charged remarks quickly ignited a storm of backlash. The National Republican Congressional Committee seized on the moment, sharing the clip on social media with a pointed message: “Everything you need to know about today’s Democrats. They cannot stand this country, they cannot stand its comeback, and they cannot hide their contempt anymore.”
Criticism of Tlaib’s outburst extended across social media, with one user expressing deep offense: “As a Black American, watching Tlaib, a non-Black person chant ‘KKK’ is beyond offensive. That word carries generations of terror and pain; it’s not a prop for political theater. This is conduct unbecoming of a Member of Congress. Censure her.”
The National Republican Congressional Committee tweeted the clip, stating: ‘Everything you need to know about today’s Democrats. They cannot stand this country, they cannot stand its comeback, and they cannot hide their contempt anymore.’
One X user responded: ‘As a Black American, watching Talib, a non-Black person chant “KKK” is beyond offensive. That word carries generations of terror and pain; it’s not a prop for political theater. This is conduct unbecoming of a Member of Congress. Censure her.’
Another said: ‘In the last week Democrats have provided political ads for the Republicans in the next cycle that would choke a seasoned marketing guy. They write themselves.’
The Daily Mail has contacted Tlaib for comment.

Democratic representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib broke out into furious yelling as Trump ripped into Somali fraud in Minnesota
Tlaib and Omar reacted furiously last night when Trump launched an attack on immigrants during his landmark speech. The President said that ‘Somali pirates’ had ‘ransacked Minnesota’ after years of lax immigration policy.
The pair began screaming, calling Trump a ‘liar’ and claiming that he had American blood on his hands following the deadly immigration crackdown in the state.
But they were quickly drowned out by the President’s Republican majority who took to their feet and started chanting: ‘USA, USA.’
Trump said: ‘When it comes to the corruption that is plundering America, there has been no more stunning example than Minnesota – where members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer.’
The President said the welfare fraud ‘reminds us that there are large parts of the world where bribery, corruption and lawlessness are the norm, not the exception.’
He warned that ‘importing these cultures through unrestricted immigration and open borders brings those problems right here to the USA.’
Cameras panned to a distraught Omar – who is Somali and represents Minneapolis – as Trump tore into the compatriots in her home state who have become enemy number one in his immigration crackdown.
Omar and Tlaib yelled abuse at Trump’s immigration enforcement, which was scaled back earlier this month after federal agents killed two protesters.
‘You have killed Americans,’ the Democratic pair screeched as the House descended into anarchy.
The President turned his fury on the women, branding them a ‘disgrace’ and telling the pair: ‘You should be ashamed.’
Republican lawmakers took that as an invitation, and their entire side of the House Chamber was quickly on its feet chanting: ‘USA, USA.’
Trump’s speech had been beset by protests before it even got underway.
Texas Democrat Al Green was ejected after brandishing a placard reading: ‘Black people aren’t apes.’
Green’s placard referenced a recent Trump social media post featuring an AI video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as primates.
Trump kept walking as GOP Senators Markwayne Mullin and Roger Marshall moved swiftly to stand in front of Green, blocking his sign from view.
The speech came as Trump faces his lowest approval ratings, with the economy and his immigration crackdown topping voter grievance lists.
Trump’s speech focused on domestic accomplishments from his first year in office, including a ratepayer pledge to keep energy prices down amid soaring costs driven by AI data centers.
The President also touted his TrumpRx initiative to deliver affordable pharmaceuticals to American families.
