Rebel Wilson has come under fire following a series of Instagram posts targeting Charlotte MacInnes. In these posts, Wilson accuses MacInnes of cultural appropriation, obstructing the release of “The Deb,” and inconsistently addressing allegations of sexual harassment.
During a court session on Thursday, Sue Chrysanthou SC referenced an article from the Daily Mail that highlighted Wilson’s critical posts about MacInnes.
One of Wilson’s posts included a photograph of MacInnes performing a song from “The Deb” aboard the luxury yacht of billionaire Len Blavatnik.
Wilson testified that she obtained the image from an Instagram group opposed to MacInnes.
Ms. Chrysanthou questioned Wilson, saying, “So someone who dislikes my client shared a picture of her singing, and you felt compelled to post about it?”
Wilson responded, “Yes, I was clearly emotional. ‘The Deb’ is a deeply personal project for me—I’ve spent five years developing it, and it’s been stalled due to litigation that Charlotte is involved in.”
