Actor Rudy Youngblood has been taken into custody in Texas on allegations of assault, marking a year since his previous legal trouble in Greece.
According to TMZ, Youngblood was arrested by Belton police early Tuesday morning following the issuance of a warrant. The warrant accuses him of assaulting a family or household member by obstructing their breathing or blood circulation.
The authorities were alerted to the warrant when an officer approached a vehicle parked near a Lake Belton boat ramp around 12:20 AM and spoke with its owner, as reported by the police.
During the arrest, officers reportedly discovered a white crystalline substance in Youngblood’s possession.
Youngblood, known for his role in Mel Gibson’s 2006 action film “Apocalypto,” is charged with a third-degree felony of ‘assault on a family/household member by impeding breath/circulation,’ as noted in the Bell County Inmate Inquiry portal.
TMZ reports that additional charges might be brought forward pending lab results. Youngblood’s bond is set at $20,000, and he remains in custody.

He was booked at 1.43AM on Tuesday at the Belton Police Department.
The Daily Mail has contacted Bell County Jail for comment but did not immediately hear back.
The latest news comes less than a year after Youngblood was released from a jail in Athens, Greece jail following a confrontation with police officers.
Youngblood was stopped for allegedly being intoxicated and threatening officers with a knife in the early hours of December 27th, as per Greek publication To Vima .
The altercation took place following a routine police check outside an Athens-area precinct, and Youngblood claims that officers were not wearing identifying insignia and did not explain his rights.
The Texas native was charged with resisting arrest, making threats and carrying a weapon, as he was found in possession of a pocketknife.
He was swiftly sentenced to 10 months in prison with a suspended sentence following his arrest, but was not released because his visa had expired, prompting a deportation order. He then successfully appealed his deportation and was granted permission to leave Greece voluntarily.
Texas-born Rudy played tribesman Jaguar Paw in Gibson’s 2006 film Apocalypto, who is forced to flee as Mayan civilization is about to end.
Youngblood also had another brush with the law in 2017, after he was arrested for allegedly being drunk and disorderly in a casino. He was charged with disorderly intoxication, but the charge was later dropped, sources told TMZ at the time.
