() Authorities in the Midwest are searching for a South Dakota woman who vanished nearly two months ago and is possibly being held against her will.

The last time Shalene Ball, 35, of Sioux Falls, was in contact with loved ones was via text on Feb. 26, though her family has not seen or heard from her since January. According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, she is believed to have last been in the area of West St. Paul or South St. Paul.

“She is believed to be endangered as law enforcement has received information that she is being held against her will,” a BCA missing persons flyer read.

A Sioux Falls police flyer stated that Ball’s family is extremely concerned for her well-being.

Ball’s cousin posted about the disappearance on Facebook, pleading for information about the missing woman.

She also pleaded with her cousin to contact family members if she can.

“Shay, if you are reading this, we love you,” Ashley Renae wrote. “We need you! Please reach out to us!”

Authorities described Ball as a white woman standing about 5 feet, 1 inch in height and weighing about 180 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Ball has a sternum dermal piercing and a Madonna/Monroe piercing, according to flyers. She also has a neck tattoo that depicts a female Woody Woodpecker smoking.

The missing woman may be traveling in a white 2007 Dodge Caravan.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call 911 or contact the West St. Paul Police Department at 651-322-2323 or the Sioux Falls Police Department at 605-367-7000.
