Fiji is preparing to welcome back its first group of tourists in 20 months.

A flight from Sydney is set to touch down in Fiji at 10.25am (AEST) this morning.

A Fiji Airways spokesperson said daily flights from Melbourne will launch today, with the first Victorians departing tonight and waking up in the islands tomorrow morning.

An airline spokesperson said Brisbane flights will begin once Queensland allows holidaying Australians to return to the state without hotel quarantine.

90 per cent of the adult population in Fiji are fully vaccinated.

Travellers entering the country must be fully vaccinated and produce evidence of a negative RT-PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure.
