A Pennsylvania woman expressed gratitude for her survival after being shot in an unprovoked road rage incident while driving on the highway.

“I had no road rage,” victim Kathryn Runner told Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI. “I didn”t, like, honk at him, I didn’t flip him the bird. I didn’t do anything to him. What gets me is a lot of cars passed him. What made him choose me?”

Authorities from the Newtown Township Police Department reported that officers were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. on Monday to a shooting near the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as Runner, suffering from a gunshot wound to her left wrist.

Runner recounted the incident, explaining that she was driving when she encountered a vehicle moving slowly. Following other cars, she decided to overtake it.

“As I overtook the vehicle, I glimpsed something shiny out of the corner of my eye,” she described. “I looked over and saw the barrel of a gun, then my window shattered, and I noticed the bullet hole.”

After calling 911, Runner began pursuing the car to note its license plate number. The driver then suddenly veered onto another road and allegedly fired two additional shots at her, one of which struck her. Runner realized she had been hit when her fingers went numb.

“I was definitely yelling at the 911 operator, telling them he’s shooting at me,” she recalled.

With the vehicle information in hand, cops found the suspect “within minutes” and took him into custody. Officers also found a gun in the car, the press release said. Christopher Corbi, 41, faces a slew of charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle.

Corbi remains at the Bucks County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 6.

Runner received a couple of stitches at the hospital. She told the TV station she is “thankful to be alive.”
