He is a serious actor and she is a vapid image-obsessed influencer.
Well, at least that’s how some of Timothée Chalamet’s fans see it.
In 2023, the 29-year-old actor shocked fans by starting a relationship with reality star Kylie Jenner. His supporters, known as ‘Chalamaniacs,’ were thrown into a frenzy, fearing that this could mark an early end to his career.
Two years on and Chalamet has cemented himself in Hollywood with Oscar nominations to his name and multiple blockbusters under his belt.
The outrage lingers for some fans, who are so upset with the 28-year-old Jenner that they choose to act as if she does not exist, still firmly convinced that she will lead to their favorite actor’s downfall.
To counter Jenner’s influence and ‘protect’ their cherished actor, fans have initiated ‘Operation Unwelcome.’ This effort comes just before the release of his new movie, Marty Supreme, where he plays a table tennis genius named Marty Reisman alongside Gwyneth Paltrow.
Despite the film’s release on Christmas Day, social media is already buzzing with messages urging people to treat Jenner like ‘a mosquito at a camping trip,’ frustrated by what they see as the makeup mogul overshadowing his rising career.

Some Timothée Chalamet fans are hellbent on eradicating Kylie Jenner’s existence and believe she is detrimental to his Hollywood career

Simone Cromer, a longtime supporter of the actor, founded Club Chalamet in 2018, becoming a prominent figure in the critique of Jenner.
‘I’m not gonna partake but it makes me so happy to hear that others feel as I do,’ wrote one critic. ‘I want her to feel unwelcome.’
Another added: ‘This needs to happen. That b***h needs a wake up call.’
Although yet to acknowledge the alleged protest by name, one of the leading voices in the disdain for Jenner has been Club Chalamet.
Created by 58-year-old Simone Cromer in 2018, the forum aimed to bring together ‘like-minded fans to engage with other mature enthusiasts to discuss Timmy and his career.’ This initiative led to the formation of Instagram and X accounts, as well as now-inactive TikTok and YouTube channels.
So famous has Cromer become that Rachel Zegler jokingly asked if she was ‘gonna be ok’ after Jenner joined Chalamet to make their red carpet debut at the 70th David di Donatello Awards in Rome earlier this year. Cromer, who proudly posts selfies with Chalamet, muzzed out Jenner’s face in photos she shared online.
With Marty Supreme, as well as his lucrative Lucid Motors partnership, ongoing filming for Dune 3 and the recent news that he will star in James Mangold’s Moto GP drama High Side, Cromer is begging fans, and the media, to drown out the ‘piggybacking noise’ that is Jenner.
She has made a plea for the actor to ditch his ‘guest’ in favor of friends, family or business associates for upcoming red carpets, claiming Jenner serves only to make him the ‘subject of savory unflattering gossip headlines.’
The reality star-turned-businesswoman was previously accused of jeopardising her boyfriend’s second chance at an Oscar for his turn as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown after she joined him at this year’s ceremony.

The actor, who lost out to favourite Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, had picked up the gong at the SAG Awards the previous week which Jenner did not attend.
‘Timothée has had a guest with him for the past awards seasons who did not complement his attendance at these high-profile events,’ Cromer wrote on Instagram last week. ‘You’re judged by the company you keep. Timothée should attend events with a friend and business associates, or his family so that they are not only there for moral support, but they are not a gossip distraction where, frankly, immature displays of ‘affection’ don’t take away from the legitimate reason why Timothée is at these awards events.’
Cromer has long been pushing the narrative that Jenner stalked Chalamet and that her famous family orchestrated their first public appearance at a Beyonce concert in September 2023. With no apparent basis, some fans fear he is now tied in a contract with the family and in desperate need of saving.
‘It looks like they’re meeting for the first time since she’s been stalking his place,’ Cromer wrote alongside a video of the pair at the gig. ‘What else is he supposed to do, spit in her face? He was probably there with friends and mama kajenner waved her staff and commanded this meeting be filmed.’
Struggling to cope with the suckerpunch of him dating a Kardashian-Jenner, she told fans that she didn’t quite know what to do to ‘alleviate [the] pain and heartache’ but advised they all ‘take some time away from social media to tend to [their] mental health.’
So, with Cromer and Chalamet’s 19.7 million followers threatening to drown out Jenner’s 393 million fans with their relentless vitriol, will their romance be able to withstand the hate?
‘It doesn’t negatively impact their relationship – right now,’ an insider told the Daily Mail exclusively. ‘She is aware of all the hate, and she doesn’t like it, but she has to rise above it. Timothée tries to reassure Kylie all the time that they are OK.
‘For the most part she takes his words to heart, but sometimes it can be too much. She would love to be liked by his fans, but the fact that she is loved by him is all that really matters.’

Cromer seemingly refuses to name Jenner or picture her on Club Chalamet accounts

Jenner is no stranger to online abuse having come-of-age in front of millions on Keeping up with the Kardashians which captured her struggles from her parents’ divorce shortly before her dad Caitlyn (previously Bruce) Jenner’s gender transition.
Last year, she broke down in an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians and confessed it was a ‘miracle’ that she still has any ‘confidence’ left after internet trolls picked apart her new pared down appearance.
But in a candid interview with Dazed in May she said she has finally ‘found peace’ with the abuse.
‘I honestly think I’m so used to it, and I just don’t really care what people say,’ she said.
So it makes sense that she has no plans to ask Chalamet to address the ongoing demonization.
‘Kylie isn’t asking him to make a statement because it would only open a can of worms that could then alter their relationship,’ our insider said.
The somewhat unlikely pair connected over mutual friends, a shared taste in music and their similarly ‘goofy’ personalities back in January 2023, when they were both invited to attend a Jean Paul Gaultier show in the French capital.
That same year, they were pictured at the US Open and a Saturday Night Live afterparty following Chalamet’s hosting stint in the November. The actor was even spotted in the background of the annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve soirée.

‘He knows that Kylie monitors it and is bothered by it, but he wants her to know that it is just talk from jealous people who aren’t really his true fans,’ said our insider
They snogged at the Golden Globes in January 2024 before repeating their love-in at this year’s ceremony, with Jenner later joining Chalamet at the Oscars.
Soon followed public displays of affection at Knicks games and secret trips to Budapest where Chalamet is filming Dune 3.
But if their relationship has been a hard pill to swallow for some, Chalamet may find himself the subject of their wrath when they discover how he really feels about their behavior.
‘Unless it starts getting dangerous, Timothée is not going to fuel or acknowledge the protest,’ our insider said. ‘He will continue to support the fun things his fans do like the look alike contests but he refuses to get involved with trolling.
