Acting Tasmanian Premier Jeremy Rockliff says an IGA in Newnham, Launceston has been declared as an exposure site.

It comes as health authorities become aware of additional movements of a 15-year-old resident who tested positive to COVID-19 on Saturday.

He left home quarantine on Saturday and travelled with his cousin to the IGA store at 113 Georgetown Rd.

Mr Rockliff says “through CCTV camera footage, an exposure window of 2.20pm to 2.45pm” was confirmed.

“This is a very limited exposure timeframe, however, out of an abundance of caution we are declared the IGA as an exposure site during this time frame,” said Mr Rockliff.
