The driver shot the two men after a fight broke out on the bus, according to the Miami Gardens Police Department.
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A bus driver was arrested after officers said he shot two passengers to death early Sunday morning in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The incident happened just before 3 a.m., the Miami Gardens Police Department said in a statement. The driver reportedly shot the two men after a fight broke out on the bus.
Both men were airlifted to Aventura Hospital in critical condition before they were pronounced dead.
“There were other passengers on the bus at the time, but the incident has been deemed isolated,” officers added.
Miami-Dade Transit released the following statement regarding the deadly shooting:
“This morning’s incident aboard a Metrobus remains under investigation, and the Department of Transportation and Public Works is fully cooperating with law enforcement. The Miami Gardens Police Department is the lead agency on the investigation, and inquiries should be directed to this department.”
The identities of the driver and the two men who were killed are unknown at this time.
