Expert reveals the mass extinction event that Earth is overdue

A space weather specialist has delivered a stark warning that Earth could be on the verge of a major geomagnetic catastrophe, potentially endangering up to 90 percent of the human population.

Ben Davidson, who established Space Weather News, discussed on the Matt Beall Limitless podcast that a quick shift of the magnetic poles, possibly set off by a solar ‘micronova,’ could lead to tsunamis, climate turmoil, and widespread extinction.

While his hypothesis of a ‘micronova,’ a sudden solar blast resulting in a pole shift, lacks widespread scientific endorsement, Davidson stressed that the core geomagnetic cycle is based on ‘solid’ science.

‘This is a near extinction-level event, and we are in the middle of it right now!’ Davidson said, highlighting a cycle occurring approximately every 6,000 years, with far more intense events happening every 12,000 years.

Our planet’s magnetic field, which defends us from solar and cosmic radiation, has diminished by up to 15 percent since the 19th century, exposing us to the risks of powerful solar storms.

Currently, the North and South Magnetic Poles are swiftly moving towards a convergence in the Bay of Bengal, and auroras, formerly uncommon in low latitudes, now occur 15 to 20 times within a few years, indicating a weakening defense.

‘Everything we expect to see is unfolding now, confirming we’re not just due for this event, it’s happening, and it’s a massive threat,’ Davidson told the Daily Mail.

Geological records have shown that Earth is overdue for a catastrophe that could plunge humanity into a new Dark Age, Davidson said, warning that it could strike within a 10 to 25-year window based on field decay and accelerating pole movement.

While a devastating solar event sounds like something out of science fiction, Earth experienced one in 1859, known as the Carrington Event.

This was the most powerful geomagnetic storm ever recorded. It caused telegraph systems to malfunction, with operators receiving shocks, wires sparking fires, and messages being sent wirelessly.

Today, a solar storm of that size would ravage power grids, halt water, food, GPS-driven agriculture, and emergency services.

‘Within three days, there’s no gasoline at the pump. There’s no food at the store,’ Davidson warned, citing US government estimates of a 90 percent population loss within months due to societal collapse.

He attributed the field’s weakening to natural changes in the molten iron currents within Earth’s outer core, which generate the magnetic field through a process called the geodynamo.

These shifting currents, driven by convection and Earth’s rotation, can destabilize, causing the field to weaken and the poles to drift.

‘The magnetic field is changing, the poles are moving, the magnetic field is weakening,’ he said, noting that these shifts mirror past geomagnetic excursions—temporary pole reversals recorded in ice cores, lava flows, and ancient pottery.

The Laschamp excursion, 41,000 years ago, saw the field drop to five to ten percent of its strength, triggering ozone depletion, climate shifts, and mass die-offs, evidenced by fossil piles and volcanic ash layers.

Ben Davidson said Earth’s weakening magnetic field is leaving the planet dangerously exposed, risking the collapse of power grids, food systems and modern civilization

The last event, 6,000 years ago, dubbed the ‘Noah event,’ left magnetic traces in pottery from Colombia, Korea, and Russia, aligning with our current timeline.

Today’s pole movements are accelerating, with the North Pole racing toward Siberia at 25 to 37 miles per year, up from six miles per year historically, while the South Pole drifts toward the Indian Ocean.

The South Atlantic Anomaly, a growing weak spot over Brazil, disrupts satellites and signals core instability, allowing more cosmic radiation to reach Earth.

This ‘shields down’ effect, Davidson said, is evident in surging auroras, which were once seen one to three times a decade at low latitudes.

‘We’ve probably seen 15 to 20 of these events. So, we’ve gone from, you know, one to three every decade to more than 10 in just a couple of years,’ he explained.

‘What the sun is throwing at Earth to trigger those lower latitude auroras is far smaller than what it used to take as we look back into the past.’

This ‘shields down’ effect allows harmful radiation to disrupt climate and ecosystems, mirroring past excursions that caused ozone loss and animal migration failures.

Davidson issues the stark warning while speaking with podcast host Matt Beall (pictured). He told Beall that

‘Everything we expect to see is unfolding now, confirming we’re not just due for this event, it’s happening, and it’s a massive threat that almost no one is addressing,’ said Davidson. ‘I think they worry about causing a panic.’

He pointed to the book ‘World in Peril,’ written by Major Maynard White’s son, which claims the government discovered these geomagnetic risks in the 1940s and 1950s but classified the findings.

Major White, risking treason, shared these documents with his son to publish and inform the public, yet much remains hidden.

‘Who is going to go up against the great power and money machine?’ Davidson said.
