SENATOR Cory Booker’s special assistant was taken into custody for possessing a firearm on Capitol grounds prior to Booker’s lengthy speech opposing President Donald Trump’s policies.
Booker spent Monday night giving a nonstop address on the Senate floor protesting the Trump administration’s policies.

Minutes before the lawmaker started his speech, which is still ongoing, his staffer Kevin Batts was arrested because he didn’t go through security.
Batts, 59, is a special assistant for the New Jersey senator.
According to a statement acquired by The U.S. Sun from Capitol Police, a Congress member escorted Batts around the security screening near the Senate Galleries on Monday afternoon.
Batts, a retired cop, told officers he was armed.
He was then arrested for carrying a pistol without a license.
‘All weapons are banned on Capitol Grounds, regardless of whether you are a retired law enforcement officer or have a carry permit from another state or the District of Columbia,’ stated the United States Capitol Police.
Booker’s office hasn’t returned The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
