Two stars from the beloved series The Office made an appearance on the season finale of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire – and won the top prize.
Kate Flannery and Oscar Nunez took part in Thursday’s episode and are best known for portraying Meredith and Oscar on the popular NBC sitcom that was on air for nine seasons.
The two stars joined host Jimmy Kimmel as they tried to score the top $1 million prize which they plan to donate to charities.
At one point, the pair had reached the final question which Flannery, 61, had to answer.
The question posed was: ‘The word “planet” originates from an ancient Greek word that literally means what?’ The choices were: ‘Powerful, Stranger, Immortal, and Wanderer.’
Nunez, 66, jumped out of his seat and nervously laid face down on the ground which caused the live audience to laugh in response.

The actor encouraged his former co-star to choose an answer and she locked in ‘Wanderer’ as her final choice.
Nunez paced back and forth behind Flannery as he placed his hands on his head while jokingly saying, ‘I hate this game.’
The actress anxiously threw her hands to her face as the two stars waited for the talk show host to reveal whether the answer was right or wrong.
However, Kimmel opted to draw out the suspense and expressed, ‘So much wandering. I could make a case for every one of these choices.
‘And you’re laying down looking up at the sky and stranger, immortal, powerful, all reasonable choices.’
The comedian commented, ‘Yet, the decision you made to immerse yourself in the mindset of an ancient Greek, perhaps even imagining yourself as Galileo, allowed you to select the right answer.’
The crowd erupted into applause while Nunez stepped back in stunned silence while Flannery yelled, ‘Oh my gosh!’
She jumped out of her seat and walked over to her co-star to give him a high five as confetti began to flow down from the ceiling.

In regards to joining an entirely new cast, Nunez recently told Variety, ‘They’re all so good.
‘All you really have to do is show up, do your thing, and keep up with them – and trust that you’re there for a reason, too.’
Discussing the script for The Paper, the actor remarked, ‘Nothing can ever quite replicate The Office. It was remarkably funny. However, this isn’t too bad either.’
Nunez also opened up about reprising his role of Oscar and said, ‘His company was bought by a bigger company, and they decided to keep him on board.
‘”Want to continue working here? You’ll need to relocate.” It’s the same guy, just in a new city, probably earning more if he negotiated well.’

When it comes to the writing for The Paper, the actor expressed, ‘Nothing will ever be like The Office. That was crazy how funny that was. But this is not too shabby’; Nunez seen in August in L.A.
