Delaware State Police Detectives are actively investigating a shooting that occurred in Hartly late Monday night and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.
Authorities have identified 40-year-old Myreon Lindsey of Stevensville, Maryland, as a person of interest in the incident. The shooting happened on March 31, 2025, just before 11:20 p.m., leading troopers to respond to the area of Sherwood Forest Way following reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival, troopers found a 35-year-old male who had been shot and had been taken to the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company. Emergency medical personnel then transferred the victim to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Officials said the preliminary investigation indicates the victim had been visiting a female acquaintance when the suspect, Myreon Lindsey, forcefully entered the residence. Police say Lindsey, who is known to the woman, engaged in a verbal confrontation with the victim that quickly escalated into a physical altercation. During the struggle, Lindsey produced a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing the scene according to police.
Lindsey is currently wanted on multiple felony charges in connection with the incident. These include Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Home Invasion Burglary in the First Degree, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. Detectives are urging anyone who may have information about Lindsey’s whereabouts to come forward.
The suspect is described as a Black male, standing approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing around 163 pounds. Police have advised the public not to approach Lindsey if seen, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Instead, individuals should immediately contact Delaware State Police or submit tips through Delaware Crime Stoppers.
