Kayla Nicole, the former girlfriend of Travis Kelce, is facing backlash from fans following her appearance in a Super Bowl commercial that seemingly throws shade at the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his current fiancée, pop superstar Taylor Swift.
The advertisement, which promotes the fantasy sports app Sleeper, features comedian Tiffany Haddish and NBA player Ben Simmons as they introduce their fictional business, “Simmons and Haddish.” The service is humorously marketed as a way to support individuals who have been “ex-communicated” after a celebrity breakup.
“Has a high-profile relationship left you or someone you know emotionally bruised? It’s more common than you think,” Haddish, 46, quips in the ad.
Simmons, 28, chimes in with a line that seems to take a playful dig at his own past, saying, “Are your exes throwing shade at you in commercials?” This appears to be a nod to his ex, Kendall Jenner, who recently starred in her own Super Bowl spot for Fanatics, poking fun at the notorious “Kardashian Curse.”
The commercial also includes appearances by other celebrity exes, such as Ace Greene from Love Island USA and former Migos rapper Offset.
However, it is Nicole’s segment that has drawn particular attention. In the ad, she is identified by name and referred to as the “Ex of a certain NFL player,” a clear reference to her past relationship with Kelce, which many viewers perceived as a jab at the athlete and Swift.

The commercial for the sports fantasy/betting app Sleeper starred Tiffany Haddish and Ben Simmons advertising a fake service to help celebrities get back at their exes
In the ad, Simmons joked that he was going to help Nicole get over Kelce ‘Swiftly’, a not-so-subtle nod to Kelce’s fiancée and international pop icon Taylor Swift
‘Don’t get me started on these two,’ Nicole joked as she then appeared in the ad, rating the pair’s services. ‘They’ve got no idea what they’re doing. At all.’
Later in the ad, Nicole said, ‘Simmons & Haddish promised me that they could put an end to this whole ‘ex-girlfriend’ fiasco quickly,’ to which Simmons interjected, ‘That doesn’t sound right.’
After Nicole went through other synonyms for quick like ‘Rapidly’ and ‘Pronto,’ Simmons replied, ‘I said swiftly, why is that so hard to remember?’
While Nicole and Kelce dated for about five years, the couple split in May of 2022. Later that year, the tight end would begin his relationship with Swift.
Fans who saw the ad roasted Nicole for her inability to move on from the relationship that ended nearly four years ago.
‘This is so sad. Sad her family, friends, and so called team aren’t telling her shes bat shit crazy and knock this crap off. She needs a job. A 9-5. I hear Kohls is hiring!’ one Swiftie posted on X.
Another said, ‘I’m convinced she doesn’t have any friends cuz my friends wouldn’t let me crash out like this after 4 years.’
‘Don’t you think it’s way past time to move on?’ wondered another user.

On her most recent album, Swift clapped back at Nicole over her repeated digs at her man
Nicole has frequently delivered subtle digs at her ex’s new relationship, which has led to Swift responding in the way she knows best.
On her latest album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ fans have speculated that the song ‘Opalite’ contains shade thrown Nicole’s way.
‘You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose,’ Swift sings on the track.
She continues: ‘And don’t we try to love love? We give it all we got / You finally left the table, and what a simple thought / You’re starving ’til you’re not.’
