The Wilmington Police are looking into a deadly car accident that involved a pedestrian, which happened early Monday morning. This incident occurred around 5:07 a.m. near the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Lower Oak Street.
Police officers and rescue teams rushed to the location after getting reports that someone had been hit by a car. When they arrived, they found a female teenager, estimated to be between 15 and 17 years old, who had suffered fatal injuries. She was declared dead at the scene.
The investigation is being handled by the Special Operations Division/Traffic Unit of the Wilmington Police Department. As of now, they have not disclosed the victim’s identity and mentioned that more details will be shared as they become known.
