Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been dumped by his state senator wife after multiple infidelities came to light.

Angela Paxton, 62, has initiated divorce proceedings by filing a petition in Collin County on Thursday. She shared an emotional announcement on X declaring the conclusion of their 38-year-long marriage.

The Paxtons, both aligned with the Republican party, have faced persistent rumors regarding Ken’s infidelity. In 2023, he faced impeachment related to allegations that he employed a woman with whom he had been involved.

‘Today, after 38 years of marriage, I have filed for divorce based on biblical principles. I regard marriage as a sacred promise and have genuinely sought reconciliation,’ she expressed.

‘But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.

‘I move forward with complete confidence that God is always working everything together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.’

Angela, a senator, had to sit through the proceedings while Katherine Cary, General Paxton’s former chief of staff, warned his affair could bring political and legal risks to the table.

He had an affair with a woman who worked for Nate Paul, a local developer.  Paxton, who is currently running for U.S. Senate against John Cornyn, secured a job for the woman he cheated on his wife with.

Although she attended her then-husband’s trial, Angela did not vote on the outcome. He was acquitted by the senate.

Following Angela’s post, the general took to his own X account and confirmed the major announcement.

‘After facing the pressures of countless political attacks and public scrutiny, Angela and I have decided to start a new chapter in our lives,’ he wrote.

‘I could not be any more proud or grateful for the incredible family that God has blessed us with, and I remain committed to supporting our amazing children and grandchildren. I ask for your prayers and privacy at this time.’

On top of infidelity in his marriage, Paxton has also been accused of corruption on several occasions. He has never been convicted of a crime.

He accepted a deal last year after prosecutors said he could avoid going to trial over felony securities fraud charges if he completed community service and paid restitution.

The 62-year-old has been the attorney general since 2015 after being in the state legislature for a decade.

Angela took office in 2019 and represents a large part of North Texas, including Rains, Hunt and Collin counties.

In a post to her Instagram in January, Angela shared precious snaps of her big family as they rang in the start to the 89th Legislative Session.

During his trial, Cary was one of eight of Paxton’s former aides who reported him to the FBI in 2020.

Mark Penley, one of those former employees, testified that Paxton pressured them to help Paul, who had given the general a $25,000 campaign contribution at the time.

Paul was indicted in June 2023 on charges of defrauding banks. He accused the judge FBI agents of wrongdoing.

Daily Mail contacted the Paxton’s for comment.
