Lou Teasdale’s friends have countered claims that Andy Carroll ended their relationship due to her being high-maintenance, saying instead that she was the one who ended things with him, as the Daily Mail reports.

Insiders associated with former Premier League player Andy, 36, stated that he concluded his year-long relationship with influencer Lou, 41, because he grew weary of her amidst several alcohol-driven arguments.

However, enraged friends have asserted that Andy was so eager to salvage their relationship that he hired a private jet and rushed to Ibiza yesterday in a last attempt to reconcile with her.

The extraordinary intervention came just hours after news emerged the couple had split after 12 months of dating.

According to a source speaking to the Daily Mail: ‘Lou decided to end her relationship with Andy. She left a few days ago, choosing to terminate their romantic involvement.

‘She is not interested in assigning blame or criticizing him and hoped to handle their breakup privately. However, he blocked her on Instagram and removed their shared photos.’

‘Lou is very upset by how everything has played out and the arguments between them were especially difficult for her to go through.

‘However Andy wants Lou back and flew to Ibiza via private jet on Tuesday just to find her, even though he has no idea where she’s staying.

‘He will think it’s a romantic gesture, but for Lou she’s unimpressed and just wants to be away with her family, she’s not interested in any of his attempts at a reconciliation.

‘All she has done all year is love and support Andy, her feelings haven’t gone away, but Lou has to protect herself now and ending the relationship is the only way to move forward.’

While Andy has removed all trace of Lou from his Instagram, the celebrity make-up artist still has a string of images featuring the footballer which demonstrates how close their relationship was on her profile. 

Andy’s romance with Lou appeared to be on the rocks eight weeks ago, when the father-of-five was questioned by police in Mykonos over drunken rows they had.

The footballer wasn’t arrested and no further action was taken with the couple continuing their romance, celebrating their one-year anniversary by attending Glastonbury festival.

This summer, the pair has enjoyed multiple holidays together and have gone to see Oasis on tour, and only three weeks ago Andy commented on one of Lou’s Instagram posts saying how lucky he was to be with her.

Andy and Lou started dating last year after the ex-Liverpool and Newcastle player separated from his wife, Towie’s Billi Mucklow, 37, with whom he has three children. 

Reality star Billi is currently holidaying in Mallorca with her family and on Tuesday posted an image of her wearing a bikini by the pool, prompting praise from her former Towie co-stars. 

Andy married Billi in June 2022 as their children Arlo, Wolf, and Marvel watched on but the couple announced their separation two years later. 

In May 2022, Andy, who also has two children from a previous relationship, was pictured ‘passed out’ between not one, but two blonde women during his Dubai stag do, causing upset and distress for Billi. 

The pair’s Hampshire wedding went ahead after the reality star forgave Andy and the sportsman later shared the date he and his wife committed to each other online alongside photos from their happy day. 

But by July 2024, Andy announced he and Billi had split, stating, ‘Billi and I have privately separated earlier this year and we are under way with our divorce proceedings.’ 

In April, Andy had teased that he was ready to settle down with Lou by referring to her as his ‘wifey’ on Instagram, as sources revealed that he was keen to remarry.

Lou Teasdale declined to comment when approached by the Daily Mail.
