The mother of Neymar’s newborn daughter, Bruna Biancardi, was the target of an armed burglary after a criminal gang attempted to break into her apartment in Brazil on Tuesday.

A man has been arrested in connection with the home invasion that took place in Cotia, greater Sao Paulo, however, Bruna and her daughter were not home at the time.

The influencer had previously been celebrating her daughter’s, Mavie, first birthday just hours previously, with Neymar sharing a post on his Instagram the same day to honour the occasion.

It has also been alleged by Quem that the intruders – two of whom were reportedly armed – wanted to find Bruna and her daughter who she welcomed with Neymar at the start of October.

Neymar is yet to release any statement in relation to the incident that happened in Sao Paulo

They instead found Bruna’s parents and reportedly attempted to restrain both of them but alerted suspicious neighbours who called security in response.

Neither Neymar or Bruna have published any statement in response to the criminal activity, however, local authority in Sao Paulo did confirm an investigation was now ongoing and an arrest had been made.

The São Paulo Department of Public Security (SSP-SP) stated: ‘The Civil Police of Cotia is investigating a robbery that occurred on the morning of Tuesday (07) in a condominium in the city.

‘According to reports, three armed men allegedly entered the residence and overpowered the 50-year-old and 52-year-old victims. The suspects stole purses, watches, and jewellery. 

‘A 20-year-old man was arrested in the act. The second perpetrator has already been identified and efforts are underway to identify the third, as well as arrest them.

‘The case is being registered in the 2nd DP of Cotia. More information will be provided at the end of the registration,’ the SSP-SP said. 

The detained individual was reportedly a member of the same condominium as Bruna and wanted to use his access to let in the other two assailants.

Police surrounded the establishment but two suspects managed to flee with luxury designer items.

Meanwhile, Neymar is currently recovering from knee surgery and is expected to be ruled out for 10 months after tearing his ACL while on international duty with Brazil.
