A shopper has shown off her sister-in-law’s impressive DIY after she made a ball pit from scratch using only four items for under $100.

Australian mum, Jakita, said that her sister constructed the pit with PVC pipe and netting from Bunnings, as well as pool noodles and balls from Kmart.

To make the project she first attached PVC pipe together to form a secure ball pit structure.

Once the pipes were sturdy she then added black netting from Bunnings around the exterior and base of the pit.

The mum then slit $2 pool noodles in an assortment of colours from Kmart and fitted them on top of the netted PVC pipes.

To finish she simply poured $8 packets of colourful Play Balls from Kmart directly into the homemade pit until it was full.

The DIY ball pit was made with affordable items just in time for Jakita’s niece as a present her first birthday.

Jakita says she is currently persuading her sister-in-law to create ball pits as a side business as similar designs can sell for up to $200.
