Victor Osimhen was already unhappy at Napoli before they mocked him on social media, according to reports.

Napoli’s official TikTok account posted two separate videos appearing to mock their star striker earlier this week, with one poking fun at him after he missed a penalty in their 0-0 draw with Bologna on Saturday, while the other contained a clip of Osimhen being referred to as a ‘coconut’.

Osimhen was furious with the videos, which were later deleted, and his agent Roberto Calenda warned that his client could take legal action against the club.

Osimhen received a private apology from Napoli directors on Wednesday for the club’s behaviour on social media, but he is upset that they did not also make a public apology, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Despite the TikTok videos being posted and the lack of a public apology, Osimhen still made himself available for Napoli’s league clash with Udinese on Wednesday night.

He started the match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium and scored the second goal in a 4-1 win, although he refused to celebrate.

It was Osimhen’s fourth goal of the season, but came following a difficult few days for the 24-year-old.

Osimhen is understood to have a strained relationship with manager Rudi Garcia, and was furious when he was substituted in the goalless draw at Bologna when Napoli were chasing a winner.

The TikTok videos followed, and he responded by deleting almost all of the photos of himself in a Napoli shirt from his Instagram.

His relationship with the Serie A outfit has soured quickly after he led the team to their first Scudetto in 33 years just four months ago.

He rejected the advances of multiple clubs over the summer to stay at Napoli, but now feels betrayed after recent events.

He is still adored by the club’s fanbase, but it appears that a series of incidents are now testing his loyalty and whether he has a long-term future at Napoli.
