Around 26,000 vehicles in the Toyota Kluger Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, LandCruiser 300 and Mirai ranges – which include some of Australia’s best-selling cars – produced between March 2021 and April 2022 have been recalled.

The recall is due to a software issue that may cause the vehicle stability control system to not automatically turn on when the vehicle is started.

Deactivating the stability control can result in a loss of vehicle control in an emergency.

The fault means the vehicle doesn’t comply with Australian design rules.

Toyota dealers will update the software free of charge to any impacted owners.
