Yasmim Ângela Feitosa de Souza, a prominent influencer, has tragically passed away at the age of 26, just two days after her birthday celebrations with companions.
Her mother shared the heartbreaking news that Yasmim, who had amassed over 23,000 followers on Instagram, suddenly fell critically ill on November 12 and succumbed to her condition later that day at her residence in Petrolina, Brazil.
In a conversation with the Brazilian media outlet g1, her mother recounted in Portuguese how the illness struck suddenly after Yasmim consumed alcohol with friends during a social gathering on the evening of November 10.
“They drank on Monday night, and by the next day, my daughter’s boyfriend was feeling ill,” her mother revealed.
She further elaborated, saying, “Despite that, my daughter was cheerful throughout the day, enjoying activities with everyone. We went to the market together, did our grocery shopping, and even had lunch out. It wasn’t until nighttime that she began to feel unwell.”
In the end, she expressed her sorrow, stating that she was unable to save her daughter.

The University Hospital of Univasf told g1 that a patient matching the circumstances arrived on November 12 with a report of methanol poisoning, part of what they described as a recent pattern of similar cases in the region.
Authorities are currently analyzing the bottle of whisky the influencer and her friends consumed, which her mother estimated to be about one and a half liters in total.
Methanol is a colorless liquid that has a smell and appearance very similar to ethanol, making it difficult to differentiate without specialist equipment. It is not intended for human consumption.
Poisoning occurs ‘accidentally when people are attempting home-brewing, or by deliberate addition to keep production costs low,’ according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
Ingesting even small amounts can be fatal for an adult.
The initial symptoms of methanol poisoning include drowsiness, confusion and uncoordinated movement.
In November 2024, six people died from suspected methanol poisoning at a bar in Vang Vieng, Laos after drinking tainted alcoholic beverages.
De Souza regularly posted lifestyle and relationship content and often featured her partner in her videos and photos.
