In the early hours of Sunday, a 24-year-old man tragically lost his life in a shooting that occurred in the lobby of a Brooklyn apartment building. This incident took place just a block away from the site where another man’s dismembered remains were discovered two days prior.
The young man was shot in the torso in the lobby of a building located on Dorchester Road near East 21st Street in Flatbush. Authorities responded to a report of a dispute between two men around 2 a.m.
Emergency medical personnel promptly transported the victim to Kings County Hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive. His identity has not yet been disclosed to the public.
Police have detained an individual of interest, although no charges have been officially filed at this time.
Remarkably close to Sunday’s shooting, police found the dismembered body of a man in a blue trash bin on East 21st Street near Ditmas Avenue on Friday morning. The victim was identified by relatives as 33-year-old Darrell Montgomery.
According to a police spokeswoman, the recent fatal shooting is not believed to be connected to Montgomery’s death.
