Travis Kelce appeared to humorously reference the internet’s buzz over Taylor Swift’s song ‘Wood’ by donning a lumberjack outfit before Sunday’s Chiefs game.
The Kansas City Chiefs aim to bounce back with a victory against the Detroit Lions, following a surprising loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their previous match.
Nevertheless, Chiefs coach Andy Reid is aware that facing the Lions, who have been in excellent form during their first five games, will be a tough challenge.
Kelce seemed poised for the game as he was seen at Arrowhead, offering a slight nod to the reporters on his way to the locker room.
Some fans humorously noted that Kelce, clad in a plaid flannel shirt and beige trousers, resembled a ‘lumberjack’ – possibly alluding to the song ‘Wood’.
Taylor Swift’s track has garnered attention since the release of her ‘Life of a Showgirl’ album, because of its clear nods to the NFL player’s masculinity.

The game against the Lions comes after a turbulent week for Kelce and fiancee Taylor Swift, who embarked on a global promotional tour for her new album.
Swift appeared on multiple talk shows to discuss her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, as well as her relationship with Chiefs tight end Kelce.
So far this season, Swift has not been spotted watching her beau play for the Chiefs, instead making her two trips to Arrowhead incognito while hidden behind a screen.
It is believed her secret arrivals are the result of security fears, after she was recently targeted by a stalker who has since received a five-year restraining order.
Whether Swift is in attendance or not on Sunday, Kelce and Chiefs will be looking to finally find some consistency after a turbulent opening five games to their season.
Kansas City are 2-3 after defeats to the Chargers and Eagles were followed with back-to-back wins over the Giants and the Ravens and then a loss to the Jaguars.
However, they were dealt a major blow just hours before the game after it was confirmed that left tackle Josh Simmons was ruled out due to reported family matter.
As first reported by NFL Network, Simmons was doubtful to return from California in time for the Sunday Night Football matchup, which is set to kick off at 6:20 local time.

He had been listed as ‘questionable,’ but the Chiefs downgraded him to ‘out’ within an hour of kickoff on Sunday.
The rookie out of Ohio State was, perhaps, the most significant offseason addition for the reigning AFC champions, who struggled to protect quarterback Patrick Mahomes last season.
He’d ultimately finish with a career-high 36 sacks, but has seen his sack percentage improve from 5.83 in 2024 to 3.68 this season.
Taken with the 32nd pick back in April, Simmons’ arrival also allowed Kingsley Suamataia to move inside to left guard to replace All-Pro Joe Thuney, who was dealt to Chicago in March.
Jaylon Moore, a 27-year-old veteran who has started 12 games over four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, is expected to start at left tackle against the Lions, according to NFL Network.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs game against the Lions comes a week after Kelce’s 36th birthday – which he spent taking in The Official Release Party of a Show Girl.
The AMC Theatres release – announced only two weeks ago with minimal promotion – served as a companion piece to Swift’s 12th studio album.
