'No Exceptions': Trump to Sign EO Requiring Voter I.D. in Elections

President Donald Trump said Saturday he will take decisive action when it comes to voter I.D. and elections across America.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced, “Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!! Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military. USE PAPER BALLOTS ONLY!!! President DJT.”

Election integrity has remained a significant concern for the former president. In December 2022, he mentioned to – News that Republicans need to counter Democrats on mail voting and ballot harvesting as they do. He acknowledged that until Republicans regain power to implement changes, they must adapt to the current system.

The outlet continued:

“The system, it’s not about being broken — the system is corrupt,” Trump explained to – News. “It’s a corrupt system. A mail-in ballot is inherently corrupt. In polling stations, identification is required, so voting is legitimate. With mail-in ballots, there’s uncertainty about their origin or destination, passing through multiple hands. Jimmy Carter, alongside renowned figures, highlighted this long ago, emphasizing that mail-in ballots are corrupt. Many countries, including France, once utilized them but have since abandoned the practice.”

“Democrats should also seek a solution because it’s a corrupt election,” Trump emphasized. “Our elections are entirely corrupt. Democrats have no incentive to fix it because it currently benefits them. However, Republicans have no alternative but to reform it. Although challenging, Republicans must address this issue.”

Fox News highlighted on Sunday that Trump recently endeavored to implement voter I.D. via a broader executive order. However, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia invalidated sections pertaining to this matter.

In her ruling, the judge stated, “In line with that division of power, Congress is presently negotiating legislation that would enact many of the changes the President seeks through executive order. The Executive Branch lacks the statutory authority to bypass Congress’s deliberative role through executive order.”

Meanwhile, transgender Democrat Rep. Sarah McBride (DE) claimed Trump is waging an “all-out assault” against “American democracy” because he wants to do away with mail-in ballots and voting machines, – News reported August 19.
