Donald Trump has extended an invitation to Erika Kirk to attend his State of the Union address as a special guest, signaling a focus on faith in his upcoming speech.
Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, will be among the attendees at the Capitol when the President delivers his address at 9 p.m. on Tuesday. His speech is expected to reference the tragic assassination of the Turning Point USA founder and the broader issue of political violence affecting the nation.
A White House official revealed to the Daily Wire that Trump plans to spotlight the “remarkable resurgence of faith, Christianity, and belief in God” in the United States following Kirk’s untimely death.
During his address, Trump is anticipated to reaffirm that America remains “one nation under God,” while urging lawmakers to “decisively oppose political violence against our fellow citizens.”
Charlie Kirk was tragically killed while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University on September 10. Prosecutors allege that his suspected assailant, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was driven by animosity towards Kirk’s conservative political stances.
The shocking assassination of Kirk resonated globally, with a memorial service in Arizona drawing attendance from Trump and several cabinet members.

Two counter-programming are planned in Washington, DC, the ‘State of the Swamp’ which will take place at 7pm at the National Press Club, with lawmakers and media stars scheduled to speak, and activists encouraged to wear swampy frog costumes.
Progressive attendees include the fiery mayors of Minneapolis and Chicago, Jacob Frey and Brandon Johnson, who have frequently clashed with Trump over his deadly immigration crackdown.
