TWINSBURG, Ohio — Crews are on the scene of a house fire in Twinsburg that officials believe was likely caused by lightning.

Twinsburg fire officials tell 3News that a call came in about a fire at a home in the 2000 block of Meadowood Boulevard just before 1 p.m.

According to Twinsburg Fire Captain Marcus Ketner, several witnesses reported “a very loud lightning strike” at the time the fire was called in. “We’re assuming it was a lightning strike,” he told 3News’ Bryant McCray

The three occupants in the house exited safely. One firefighter suffered a minor injury.

Twinsburg firefighters were assisted at the scene by crews from Aurora, Streetsboro, Solon, Hudson, and Reminderville.

Officials added that the home sustained heavy damage and the residents will be displaced for the time being.
