Two Florida men face numerous charges after leading Collier County Sheriff deputies on a nearly 20-mile pursuit and striking a deputy’s vehicle multiple times Thursday.

“These individuals displayed no regard for other motorists as they attempted to recklessly elude our deputies,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk. “They will now be held accountable for their actions.”

Around 7:30 a.m. deputies attempted to stop a silver Camaro that was traveling 80 mph in a 60 mph zone on State Road 29 near Oil Well Road.

Deputies engaged in a pursuit after attempts to pull over the suspect vehicle were unsuccessful. During the pursuit, the driver traveled recklessly at high speeds, passing other vehicles in no-passing zones multiple times, according to investigators.

While fleeing, the driver struck a CCSO vehicle that had its lights and sirens activated multiple times.

The pursuit ended on a dead-end gravel road where deputies apprehended the 20-year-old driver and his 19-year-old passenger, both of Lehigh Acres.

The driver, George Amilkar Recio Galindo of 3214 3rd St. S.W., is charged with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and driving with a revoked license.

Recio Galindo and Yunior Beltran of 801 W. 9th St. also face multiple drug charges after deputies found various narcotics including oxycodone and marijuana, along with narcotic paraphernalia, inside the Camaro.
