A pair of tourists hoping to jet off on holiday in France accidentally ended up in Africa after a HUGE mix up.

Brittney, who goes by @brittneydzialo_ on TikTok, and her friend Hannah shared their ordeal on social media – and accumulated millions of views.

The travellers were planning to visit Nice, in southern France, known for its beautiful beaches and a characterful old town.

Once they were on the plane departing from Rome, it didn’t take long for them to realize their destination was not as expected. Instead, they were on a course to Tunis, the capital city of Tunisia in North Africa.

One video of their journey show them talking to other passengers and asking, ‘Is this going to Nice?’

Captioned with, ‘the moment we realised we were on the wrong flight and on our way to TUNIS, AFRICA and not NICE, FRANCE’.

Speaking to each other, Hannah says, ‘Oh my god Brittney’ while Brittney replies, ‘Where’s Tunisia?’

‘I don’t know Brittney, he misheard us,’ Hannah responds.

The pair show a confused looking air hostess their ticket and ask if the plane is going to Nice.

‘No, to Tunis,’ the flight attendant clarifies.

‘We’re supposed to go to Nice!’ one of the women exclaims.

In another video, the pair speak to a pilot who tells them to stay on the plane and sort out the problem ‘after this flight’.

‘You change the plane later, to Nice,’ he explains.

They make their way to their seats and exclaim to the other passengers while laughing, ‘We’re going to Africa!’

After landing in Tunis, further videos show the pair trying to explain to airport officials how they ended up in Africa and not France.

Eventually, they boarded a plane to Nice and posted a video captioned ‘hours later and we are finally getting on the plane to Nice’.

The pair received a mixed response online, with some finding the situation hilarious and others not seeing the funny side.

‘It’s actually embarrassing you can be so loudly ignorant you’re on a plane full of Tunisians and proudly declare where is Tunisia? Girl what no shame?’ one person fumed.

Another commented, ‘I’m confused. Did you not look at your boarding pass or the screens that show the destination when you’re waiting to board?’

While someone else penned, ‘I would have found it hilarious. People need to relax and laugh a little. ‘

‘This is actually so hilarious and I’m so glad y’all were such good sports about it, like all you can do is laugh,’ another added.
