Georgia offensive lineman Marques Easley faces charges after a crash, adding to the team’s driving-related concerns.
WATKINSVILLE, Ga. — Editor’s note: The video above is from an earlier report on this story.
Suspended Georgia offensive lineman Marques Easley was arrested on Friday, according to a police report, following a car crash earlier in the week.
The incident occurred just after 10:00 p.m. on March 17 in Watkinsville, where Easley’s car lost control and struck a power box before colliding with two parked vehicles and an apartment complex on Redwood Lane.
Easley has been charged with three counts of reckless conduct and one count of reckless driving, all misdemeanors. He was booked on Friday and released on a $1,000 bond.
Before the arrest, UGA announced the indefinite suspension of both Easley and sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle from all team activities. Tuggle’s suspension followed his arrest on charges of speeding and reckless driving.
This incident adds to a series of driving-related issues within the Georgia football program.
Since January 2023, there have been multiple cases involving players or staff charged with offenses such as speeding, racing, reckless driving, or reckless conduct.
This pattern has raised concerns, especially following the tragic car crash in January 2023 that resulted in the deaths of offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy.
