In a surprising turn of events, patrons at an outdoor cinema in Sydney’s central business district were left in shock when a couple engaged in a public display of intimacy. The unexpected scene unfolded against the backdrop of the Crown Tower, visible through a full-length glass window high above the cinema crowd.
Captured on video by a member of the audience at Barangaroo’s Mov’in Bed cinema, the footage zoomed in on a particular apartment window in the prominent Crown Tower. There, a couple, starkly outlined by the bright interior lighting, were seen performing an acrobatic and explicit act that quickly drew the attention—and gasps—of those below.
The man behind the camera provided a running commentary, exclaiming, “When you’re at the movies, outside the Barangaroo, and you’ve got these two.” Meanwhile, a woman’s voice can be heard in the background, expressing her embarrassment over the situation.
The Crown Residences at One Barangaroo, known for its opulence, boasts 76 exclusive apartments. This ultra-luxury development, branded as a hotel-residence, inadvertently became the center of attention that evening for reasons its designers likely did not anticipate.
‘How f***ing embarrassing,’ a woman can be heard saying.
Crown Residences at One Barangaroo is considered an ultra-luxury integrated hotel-branded residential development, featuring 76 private apartments.
The building, known as ‘Crown’s tower of power’, is home to gaming billionaire James Packer who owns a $60million split-level two-storey penthouse in the building.
Sydney’s most expensive apartment boasts breathtaking views across the city and Opera House, and includes neighbours like celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, his wife Anika, and LaserClinic co-founder Babak Moini.
Backlit in the floor-to-ceiling window, the clearly naked couple can be seen engaging in an explicit and acrobatic sex act which is too graphic and obscene to describe

It is just the latest in a long line of public sex romps which have shocked Sydneysiders.
In 2023, residents in one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs witnessed a couple having sex in broad daylight in another visible apartment tryst.
A video shot by a diner at Double Bay’s Indigo café and published on the Brown Cardigan Instagram account, zooms in across the bustling afternoon street to a modern apartment building situated behind a dry cleaners.
It showed yet another completely naked couple enjoying the late winter sunshine and performing another sex act too obscene to describe, perfectly framed in a window.
‘Barbie & Ken: Double Bay edition,’ was the caption to the steamy clip.
The well-known businessman involved in the encounter had rented the apartment with floor to ceiling windows for almost $900 a week.
The building is also home to office spaces, including a plastic surgeon, psychologist, and chiropractor.
‘The individual is a legitimate professional,’ a source close to the man said. ‘I’m sure he’s aware videos of him having sex are circulating.
Couple caught in a daylight sex romp in Double Bay

‘I was in Double Bay earlier today, and their blinds were firmly shut.’
The couple caught the attention of neighbouring residents, restaurant diners, and tradies.
‘It’s all anyone is talking about,’ a local business owner said at the time.
‘Were they a couple? Was it an escort? Maybe is was a one-night-stand, there are so many unanswered questions!’ they added.
Another couple were also caught in the act by swimmers while having dangerous sex on a cliffside near Bondi during the Covid lockdowns in 2021.
Bystanders could be seen taking in the view just a few metres above the pair, blissfuly unaware of what was unfolding below them in the 8.15am encounter.
Images of the daring clinch were posted on social media and asked if the couple were exempt from lockdown restrictions because the sex act counted as exercise.
