Nicole Kidman found herself spending Thanksgiving apart from her two youngest daughters. Following her September divorce filing, the actress agreed that Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret would celebrate the holiday with their father.

For the Australian star, who resides in Nashville, the absence of her daughters likely made this quintessentially American holiday feel particularly solitary.

Despite their impending split, Kidman and her former husband, both aged 58, continue to live in close proximity. While she remains in their shared home, Keith Urban has relocated to a place ‘very nearby’.

The pair often cross paths at the local Whole Foods, albeit shopping separately, and even share a hairstylist, Ashley Wahler, who tends to Kidman’s signature butterscotch tresses and Urban’s frosted tips.

Insiders suggest their situation resembles a Tennessee turf war. Yet, if the area feels too small for both, why should she be the one to walk away?

Especially since the end of their 19-year marriage reportedly left Kidman feeling ‘devastated’ and ‘shocked’.

She fought like a rabid racoon to save what remained of their loveless bond, but Urban made clear he was ready to call it quits.

Sure, country star and mini-man Urban made Nashville his home before he met and married his ‘Babygirl’ – but she left her entire life in LA to contort herself to his comforts once wed.

And don’t forget, she carted him off to rehab just four months after that 2006 wedding, and not once did she whinge or waver.

By all accounts, the now two-time divorcee is barely weathering the storm, leaning on good friends, her daughters and closest confidante, sister Antonia. 

She recently told Interview magazine that she is ‘hanging in there’. 

Anyone who’s been through a nasty breakup knows that’s girl code for ‘I’m basically falling apart and living off mimosas and sea moss, but holding it together when anyone’s looking.’

Contrast that with Good Time Charlie Urban who’s been linked with more than a few beauties who are barely a few years older than his first-born daughter.

Karley Scott Collins, 25, has been touring with the wrinkled crooner for months now.

They’ve gushed over each other in nauseating social media posts, but does she know he’s old enough to be her grandad in certain parts of Tennessee?

My advice to Nicole?

If you want to win this war, as much as it hurts, the only road she needs to take is the high one.

Karley Scott Collins, 25, has been touring with wrinkled crooner Urban for months now. 

There is no need to bad mouth an ex when he’s doing enough damage to himself already. 

Let Keith have his embarrassing midlife crisis while you process your pain in private, and continue setting a good example for your daughters by working hard and extending good grace to a former partner who doesn’t really deserve it. 

Wherever you choose to have a family with someone, even when it falls apart in spectacular fashion, that is your home.

Nicole has more hair so she should get custody of the hair stylist – and also first pick of Whole Foods, for when the moment comes and she needs a little late-night chocolate, or a box organic tissues and an ugly cry.
