A 14-year-old boy was arrested in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old girl in the Bronx.
Police were called to a shooting incident involving a woman at the intersection of Home Street and Tinton Avenue in the Bronx, at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Monday, as stated by a police spokesperson.
The victim, Evette Jeffrey, was found “unconscious and unresponsive” with a gunshot wound to the head.
She was later pronounced dead.
The suspect was arrested Tuesday morning as he tried to enter a taxi and initially attempted to flee, according to Kenny.
The teen was reportedly arrested without further incident.

The teenager faces charges including two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of first-degree manslaughter, and one count of second-degree attempted murder, the authorities confirmed to Fox News Digital.
Police are also searching for the 12-year-old who allegedly provided the gun to the suspect, according to FOX 5.
