THE 22-YEAR-OLD boyfriend of a missing pregnant teenager has been charged with her murder two weeks after she disappeared.

Gregory Groom was slapped with the charges on Tuesday after Kylee Monteiro’s body was discovered inside his home, police said.

An 18-year-old from Attleboro, Massachusetts, which is about 90 minutes south of Boston, was 11 weeks into her pregnancy when she was reported missing on August 7 by a man named Groom.

She was last seen at her boyfriend’s residence the day before when the couple had gotten into an argument.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for his home and discovered human remains “consistent with” the missing teen on Tuesday.

Groom, who was already facing assault charges stemming from the couple’s fight, was then slapped with a murder charge.

In an emotional post on Facebook, Kylee Monteiro’s sister, Kitty Monteiro, expressed her gratitude for the detectives’ efforts in uncovering the truth.

“Although this isn’t the outcome we hoped for, it represents closure for us and allows Kylee to rest peacefully with her mother and child,” she shared on social media.

“This reminds us to frequently check on loved ones, express our love to them as often as we can, take daily photos, and always remember how cherished we are.”

“So many people. You will always be remembered Kylee and baby Eleanor.”

Groom will be arraigned on Wednesday morning.

‘SO LOVING’

Kylee, who had graduated from Attleboro High School in June, was staying in a shelter for pregnant women at the time she vanished, as reported by The Sun Chronicle.

Her mom had died five years ago, and she lived with her aunt and uncle when she was in high school.

Kylee’s other sister Faith Monteiro claimed it was difficult to get in touch with Groom after her sibling disappeared.

“I couldn’t reach him for a while—he was receiving many threats and had isolated himself,” she explained to ABC affiliate WCVB prior to Groom’s arrest.

Video taken outside Groom’s home and of the surrounding wooded area showed detectives entering the property with excavation equipment.

Some cops carried bags as they walked into the trees, according to local outlets.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III said they are still waiting for confirmation from the medical examiner.

One friend of Kylee described the teenager as “so loving and caring,” according to WCVB.

“Kylee will always be remembered and always be loved.”
