WATCH the shocking moment a drunk passenger takes an airport golf cart on a destructive joyride after hijacking it.
Kevin Sinning, 29, is accused of commandeering the vehicle and wreaking havoc inside New York’s Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
Witnesses filmed the mayhem at just before 1am on Monday morning.
The boozed-up traveller can be seen wobbling around in the driver’s seat of the large cart – fortunately without any passengers in tow.
The footage starts just as he accelerates out of a travelator walkway intended for pedestrians.
A bemused onlooker comments: “I think he’s drunk.”
He then motors on to the end of the terminal room, before completing a clumsy three point turn – using his foot as the reverse.
To nervous chuckles from other passengers, he then scoots back towards the travelator – and decides to take a trip down the other side.
But the cart is too wide – forcing the wheels on one side to ride part way up the wall, and setting the cart on a precarious tilt.
Glass wall panels shatter with loud bangs, and metal sheets crack and pop from the fittings.
Airport workers shout “What is this?!”, and startled passengers whip out their mobiles to film the bonkers drive-by.
Onlookers plead with him to stop.
None of this deters the oblivious driver, however, who steamrolls on along the passageway, leaving a trail of destruction behind.
He wheels off after ploughing through to the end.
Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority officials said Kevin was “visibly intoxicated”.
Witness Tom Brennon shared with WGRZ that those at the scene were concerned the joyrider might be armed, prompting everyone to take a “safe step back” until the police arrived.
He continued: “You could tell something was not right with him.
“He was not responding to demands from people telling him to stop.
“He was totally disregarding people around him.”
An airport spokesperson commented to the channel: “We’re extremely thankful for the quick response by our police officers and also by the bystanders who informed the police.
“Such incidents are taken very seriously. Currently, it’s only property damage, but we want to ensure nothing like this recurs where people could be injured.”
Kevin is facing charges of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and grand larceny.
