3 signs read to filth during this week's Mercury cazimi in Virgo

There’s a Mercury cazimi in Virgo coming this weekend — and it’s time to talk tough love and concrete clarity, folks.

The term “Cazimi” is derived from the Arabic word kaṣmīmī, which means “as if in the heart.” In astrology, a cazimi occurs when a planet is in close or exact conjunction with the sun, essentially in its intense core.

A Mercury cazimi happens when Mercury, the planet associated with the mind, communication, poetry, and controversies, comes within one degree of our solar system’s central star.

A cazimi is something of a solar amplifier/purifier — where the inherent energy of a planet is hyped and heightened by its proximity to the sun.

This week, on Saturday, September 13, that energy is the fine tooth and sharp claw of Virgo.

Within the sign of Virgo, Mercury finds both its home and exaltation, implying that this swift-tongued planet can fully articulate its capabilities and support moments of realization.

“This Mercury cazimi can provide us with intriguing insights, unveiling methods we hadn’t previously considered, and uncovering concealed information. Picture pondering a matter for an extended period without resolution, only to find sudden clarity on this day,” Polina Arutiunian, an astrologer and spiritual advisor at Nebula, explained to The Post.

With Mercury governing thought and Virgo being an earth sign rooted in practicality, this is an ideal time to commit ideas to writing. What’s articulated and recorded now might hold significant worth in the times to come.

Arutiunian notes that this week’s Mercury cazimi is also conjunct the South Node — a point that represents past lives and karmic debts.

“This alignment can reveal something significant connected to your past, as if a long-awaited puzzle piece finally falls into place.”

This cazimi coincides with what is known as the “eclipse portal,” a period where unexpected, transformative events or revelations are anticipated, amplifying the impact of this astrological event.

While we’ll all be under the influence of this cazimi, three signs in particular will be most sensitive to its effects.

Read for your sun, rising and Mercury sign.

“Ruled by Mercury, Gemini and Virgo are representatives of the planet’s energy — inquisitive, intellectual and rational,” said Arutiunian.

She shared that this cazimi comes correct with major revelations for and from both signs.

“You may receive news connected to past situations, or even encounter someone from your past. The Universe may draw your attention to details that are worth noticing. It’s also a favorable day for public speaking, whether as a presenter, mediator, or teacher.”

For Geminis, now is an auspicious time to clear the air on familial matters and/or speak calmly and compassionately about a delicate issue from the past. Remember that words can be both soft and true.

For Virgos, whose tongues can be both blade and balm, remember that what you say is the billboard advertisement for who you are. Speak as if your every utterance were being committed to the collective memory — choose your words like you’re choosing your own eulogy.

“The sign of Leo is under the protection of the energy of the Sun, and on this day, it is colored by Mercury’s manifestations,” said Arutiunian.

For lions, this cazimi is going down and flaring up in their second house of wealth and worth, meaning words can both wound and weld today. Arutiunian predicts that Leos could operate as avatars of Mercury, uncovering truth, meddling with meaning and/or delivering vital news.

“Overall, this day can inspire fresh ideas and open opportunities to engage with Mercury-related matters, such as starting a new course of study, becoming a student, or resolving issues related to essential documents, transportation, or upcoming trips.”
