JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities have detained a 68-year-old woman following the fatal stabbing of an elderly man inside a senior living complex in Jacksonville, the sheriff’s department reported on Wednesday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident at a senior living facility on Norfolk Boulevard early Tuesday morning, where they discovered 73-year-old Robert Tucker in the lobby with several stab injuries. He succumbed to his wounds on-site.
JSO said officers followed a trail of blood from Tucker to a unit at the facility where they found the suspect, Carol Carroll.
After speaking with Carroll and reviewing evidence at the property, homicide detectives arrested her and charged her with Tucker’s murder.
JSO said early investigation determined Carroll and Tucker knew each other prior to the incident.
