Fortunately, the young boy did not need to be hospitalized.

Emergency responders also attended to two additional individuals, including a female staff member who suffered minor injuries.

Authorities have interviewed an 11-year-old boy in connection with the incident, who has been taken to the hospital for evaluation.

As a precautionary measure, Brentwood Park Primary School and the nearby Kambrya College were temporarily placed under lockdown.

“The school enacted its safety procedures, and police and paramedics attended the school,” a Department of Education spokesperson said.

“We are supporting both the staff member and the student and are providing additional wellbeing supports to those who need it.”

The department said the school resumed classes shortly after the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
